  • Seeks to promote quality evaluation and research as critical components of service delivery programs in Ohio
  • Supports those who conduct evaluations, whether part- or full-time

OPEG Board Nominations for 2017-2018 Open!

It is time again for OPEG Board elections. This year there are two officer openings (Secretary and Vice President) and two at-large member openings, one of which is specifically for a student member. In order to have a robust election and diverse, representative Board we encourage all members to consider running for these open positions.

All Board terms are for two years, with one re-election allowed.  At-large positions are for one year.  There are about five phone meetings and one in-person meeting per year.   No previous expertise is required.

At-Large Board members take on OPEG responsibilities as needed, such as Newsletter Editor or Membership Committee Chair.  It’s a great way to get to know regional evaluators, to better understand how a professional association operates, and to work with a group of interesting, dedicated colleagues on exciting initiatives. 

Please consider running for a Board position. If you have any questions or would like to run for a position, email Elections Chair Thom Craig at tcraig@mcmfdn.org.  Nominations are due by Saturday, March 25th.  Please include the following information:

  • Name
  • Employer
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Position of interest (Secretary,  Vice President or Member at Large)
  • Bio (100 words or fewer)

Voting will commence the following week and results announced at the Spring Exchange on May 19, 2017.

OPEG Strategic Plan

OPEG's Board of Directors developed a strategic plan in early 2013 to help it guide OPEG's direction and create strategies to carry that out.

Service Opportunities

OPEG is a completely volunteer-run organization. Board and regular members serve OPEG in various ways:

  • OPEG Board officers meet via conference call every other month or as needed to make organizational decisions
  • Committees handle OPEG activities and functions
  • Past President Rob Fischer penned an Ode to OPEG when he left office in 2011
  • You can view the OPEG Code of Regulations here

We appreciate all our volunteers for their contribution of time and other resources. Service committees and other activities regularly need assistance. Please contact the point person listed if you would like to participate in any of OPEG's activities.

Awards

Each year OPEG presents awards to an Ohio evaluator who has substantially contributed to the field and an OPEG member who has provided outstanding service to the organization. See our Awards page describing our recent winners.
